Telephone fundraising campaign
When Darlington Hippodrome re-opens in December 2017, the £12.3 million restoration will totally transform the theatre, restoring its Edwardian features and presenting us with the opportunity to provide a dynamic daytime offer, bigger and more exciting shows, a new education space, new café and bars, significant physical access improvements including two public lifts and wheelchair access to all levels, exhibitions and training and volunteering opportunities.
Our passion has always been straightforward; to present as wide a range of excellent quality performing arts events as possible in our superb Edwardian auditorium, and to provide opportunities for people of all ages to engage with the arts.
In June, we are launching a telephone fundraising appeal in support of the restoration to ensure we can continue to build a strong and vibrant future, and we’ll be contacting some of our most frequent visitors. We hope that you’ll enjoy the opportunity to be updated on news from the theatre on how the restoration is developing, as well as having the chance to share with us your opinions and experiences. Crucially, we hope that you’ll be encouraged to support our appeal and help us to deliver a fully restored theatre.
The appeal will support the refurbishment of the back of house facilities and dressing rooms used by the visiting touring companies which regularly include famous performers. Donors will have the unique opportunity of having their name on the wall of Dressing Room Number One as a sign of our gratitude for your kind contribution.
